Whispers in the Night
A Suspenseful Poem of Fiction, Where Fear and Curiosity Collide
In the darkness of the night,
A figure moves, out of sight,
With footsteps light and barely heard,
It moves without a single word.
A whisper echoes through the air,
A voice that seems to come from nowhere,
It chills the bones and raises fear,
And makes the heart beat fast and near.
The figure stops, and turns around,
As if it hears a distant sound,
And then it disappears from sight,
Leaving behind an eerie light.
The light grows brighter, and expands,
As if it's reaching out its hands,
And in its glow, a figure stands,
A being not of human lands.
The creature smiles, and beckons me,
As if it wants to set me free,
But I cannot move, I cannot flee,
For fear has taken hold of me.
And so I stand, and watch in awe,
As the creature fades into the dawn,
And though I'm scared, I cannot deny,
That in that moment, I felt alive.
