In verses old, truths we find,
From Ecclesiastes, words of the mind,
Dust returns to Earth, spirit to God's grace,
In Romans, eternal life through Christ we embrace.
Psalm 115 tells of the silent sleep,
The dead don't praise, in silence they keep,
Yet Psalm 6 reminds, in Sheol's abode,
No remembrance of God, in death's dark fold.
Genesis tells how God first made,
Man from dust, His life He gave,
Revelation warns of the second death's plight,
For the faithless, a fiery, eternal night.
In Hebrews, it's clear, a truth so stern,
Man shall die once, judgment to discern,
John 14 declares, Christ the only way,
To the Father, through Him, we find our stay.
John 6 speaks of flesh, blood to partake,
In Christ's life, our souls shall wake,
John proclaims, by faith, we are His kin,
Children of God, through Him, we begin.
