When is Ecstasy turned on?

Joyful waves wash over the mind's peaceful sea

As ecstasy's joyful waves flow freely

Serotonin rises, colors shine bright

Senses heightened, a new vibrant light

Music's rhythmic beats echo deep

As emotional connections with strangers quickly leap

Social barriers melt in warm Connection's glow

Souls connect, boundaries come and go

Yet this chemically-induced fire has a price

The body's delicate balance, in the fire tossed twice

As energy rises, fatigue warnings hidden

Drained, overheated, the body is ridden

Perception's cover pulled over panting eyes

Dehydration hides, as thirst steadily lies

The heart pounds, pressures rise and climb

Careless, energy spent beyond reason's time

Teeth grinding's grip tightens the aching jaw

Physical needs calmed, appetites raw

As night's joys dim at the dawn's first rosy grace

Discomfort returns, a gap in euphoria's embrace

When artificial joys finally fade their spell

Examining aftermaths where darker tolls dwell

Structures re-wired, new brain paths bent

Mental strongholds shaken, sturdy walls deeply rent

So fleeting the thrill, at a cost still unseen

When night's enchanted joys finally subside

The body's lingering pains, the spirit's skewed sight

Illuminate the risks of chasing this fleeting light
