Watercolour woman,
Faded in her hue,
Alone without her colour,
Her soul seeking renew.
-
Somewhere along the way,
Her world became a blur,
Her features once defined,
Her spirit now deterred.
-
Society made her plain,
Her self-esteem wary,
Her iridescence tarnished,
Completely ordinary.
-
A challenge then she finds,
What makes you so unique?
Alas, she doesn’t know,
Her conviction ever weak.
-
Compared to those around her,
She feels so very small,
She’s lost her inner spark,
So unexceptional.
-
How then do you reclaim,
The spirit you once knew?
How do you become,
The most vivid version of you?
-
To stand out in the crowd,
Expansive and so vast,
To finally come first,
Instead of always last.
-
Then Something ignites the fire,
That’s burning deep within,
Your chance to become the woman,
You know you’ve always been.
-
Embrace your ordinary,
Revel in your plain,
Use everything that held you back,
To fuel you as you gain.
-
Watercolour woman,
Let your colour burst through,
Because there is no such thing,
As one the same as you.
