Wallflower
A Poem
Wallflower standing there
Feeling the energy in the air
Life of the party
Chained down by uncertainty and apprehension
Feeling the tension
Of wanting
To join
Wanting to live
To forgive
Yourself
Feeling no self-wealth
Destroying all you create
Out of self-hate
Continuing to flagellate
Looking in
But never passing through the gate
Wallflower
Dance
Dance like your life depends on it
Own it
And flaunt it
Extroverted introversion
Go on
Take that excursion
Adventure
Feed your soul
The world will take its toll
No matter what you do
You be you
People will point and judge
Ignore them
And rise above
Knowing that you are loved
