Up All Night

an erotic poem for my love, blessed by James Joyce

Up all night

Nymphette pixies

Flickering in candlelight

In Dublin's fair city

Where the girls are so pretty

Bright nightsweat

Cooling on my cheekbones

The taste of salt and cum

Crystalline dreaming

When I first set my eyes

on Sweet Molly …

(Oh Rocks!)

When the word love turned liquid

seeping into the seething sheets

mindflowering in fireworks of impossible colors

and scattering rosecrystal shards of starlight

all over the wintergray floor

Pace, pace mi dolce amor...

Snug as Poldy and Molly

At the end of the night's story

We fell asleep waiting for Spring to come

And when he came at last,

snowfall melting on his little suit,

and bronze helmet in hand,

his shiny shoes and mauvey cheeks

besmirched with mud,

He left crystalmuddy fairy fingerprints

All over our computer screen.
