~~~~~~~
Lefty feels the scars
that others can't see.
Lefty's body is exhausted,
the imprisonment
keeping her soul from being free.
She washes her skin free from sin,
but Lefty knows that only God
can pardon her from a bad deed.
She goes with the motions,
the pen glides smoothly on
her paper as her mind flows.
Lefty is the tool to her only
form of escape.
Lefty knows that this therapy
keeps her sane from the paradox of insanity that is routine.
She gets a thrill of not knowing
what word, phrase,
sentence comes next,
She just allows her spirit to
spit fire or water,
sometimes air when she's stuck...
But what's beautiful about Lefty
is her inability
to cease. She keeps going, letting
the pain bleed out in
black
and red, but mostly
blue...
Lefty says all the emotions
I can't put into words.
She speaks raw truth sometimes
defined by intricate word play
and equivocally subtle lines,
not knowing what power her writing holds,
but she hold the hopes together of I,
who prays that one day
Lefty will set me free.
