Before

Poems from Journal Titled, Black and Blue (2018 - 2019)

A bruise always changes colors before it heals.

"Before"

Poem derived from my first completed journal, Black and Blue (2018-2019). Written July 17th 2018.

~~~~~~~
Fuck the ego.
That's what I'm thinking,
or the mind that operates the vessel to my soul,
at least.
"You think like a 50 year old,"
he said.
STOP.
I had to write these words,
in red ink,
before the new mets hit,
and they might kill my creativity,
in the words I chose to spew.
It's a catch 22.
I didn't even write this shit before here,
because I wanted the TRUTH.
It's a double edged sword.
I fear losing myself
with and without the pill.
Lost my gift?
Or lose my sanity?
Loss is inevitable.
Thus, before I say "see you later" to Lefty,
I will channel my spirit daily,
to keep my purpose going,
in black and blue ink.
No fear.
No nothing.
