until my toes are warm

a reflection

Make me laugh until I do that dorky snort

That sounds like a pig.

Make me laugh until I'm in tears.

Laugh with me– laugh so hard

That we're rolling on the floor

In tears,

Red-faced,

Eyes squinting,

Wide smiles on our faces.

Cuddle with me until my toes are warm

Because you know they're always cold.

Hold me until all my worries

Go away.

Hold me like I'm the one–

The light,

The laughter,

The happiness,

The energy and heart

That you've always wanted.

Know me like no one else has,

From the holes in my heart,

And the bandaged-up scars on my knees–

To the holes and scars in the deep fissures of my mind.

All of it.
