We are Victims of unsynchronized passion
We love with chaotic hearts
Wearing pain like it was in fashion
Loves carnage is our work of art
Whats pleasure if you dont have some pain
Whats a smile worth without any tears
Dark skies are harmless without rain
And the sun just illuminates fears
Who said love is supposed to be easy
Can it really save you from loss
Or just a crutch to keep you from seeing
You’ll fight being alone at all cost
What is it about love that you run to
Why is being alone so damn hard
So you jump in and accept what they sell you
Forget you’re the one holding the cards
Stop stepping into life blindly
Pay attention the signs are all there
Be true to yourself, stop politely
Giving yourself away without care.
The time has come to see your reflection
Dig deep and reevaluate
Love is saving you from the inside
Your the master of your own fate
Your heart is begging you for it’s protection
No one against you has the power to stand
It’s beautiful and has all the power
Frees you to be whole again

A Chore Worth Doing
Begrudgingly, I tromped down the deck stairs. The clomping of my reluctant feet hit each one as I continued to descend. The sound echoed through the silent Saturday morning air. My resolve to do this began to erode until a cool, soothing wind caressed my cheeks. The serene stillness of this quiet morning wrapped me in an envelope of peacefulness. I sighed in relief. Ready to start my least favourite chore, but knew no one else would do it. I grunted in displeasure as I leaned down and coated my brush in paint, then pressed it to the fence. Finally done procrastinating, I began, and I allowed muscle memory to take over.

Final Call
She flings her arms around my neck and squeezes me like she’s never going to let me go. My head spins as her lips brush against my cheek. She must be able to feel my heart thumping in my chest. I shuffle backwards and ram my hands into my coat pockets, watching her reach down and heave the rucksack across her shoulders.
