Uninvited Guest

Myth and Reality

Beware the uninvited guest

Whose baleful presence angers, lest

She multiplies her disrepute

And gifts a dire, discordant fruit.

A harvest thence of clashing spears

As armies fight for ten long years.

Brave heroes fall, a city burns

All peace and concord overturns,

Proceeding from the evil quest

Of Chiron’s uninvited guest.

Beware the uninvited guest

So small yet savage. You must test

And trace your contacts should by chance

The guest invite you to the dance

Of clammy palms and shortened breath

With worry of untimely death.

The midget monster, claws unfurled

Has swept its way around the World.

Once ancient Fate is future jest -

Beware the uninvited guest.
