We may not feel so unique
when you close your eyes and start to think
about rarity defined.
Though when compared
to the other earthly species
and how they fared
in the light
of day.
Like these words I write
and are able to say.
Communication, acute or global by stroke.
We created tools, harnessed fire and tamed its smoke.
When looking for the rarest to uncover,
the uncommon gem is not in a distant direction,
It’s in your jeans
and your reflection!
