Tyrant's Triumph (?)

Together Transformed

They tried terror to tamp thriving tenderness

Then torment tore through the teeming territories.

-

They took the travail to tents that trembled,

Then tempted them through trustless taunts.

-

They trampled truth, technology's tablets; terabytes twisted,

Then turned to traitorous, two-faced, tall tale tricks.

-

They toasted their turpitude, their troubled trauma turning torpidly...

-

Then: turning-point!

The tribe trapped twixt them/trust..

twisted...

turned....

thrust...

Triumphant!

Transcendent!

-

Thankfully; tougher together.

Thoroughly transformed.

This was so well done. I forgot for a moment that it was a tautogram. The flow was just that good!

    Wonderful ❤️🎉

  • Powerful & so apt for the present age. This path of just taking what we want, crushing all who would get in our way, is so tempting. Tens of millions in our own country (USA) deride & dismiss the simple human act of caring for another person as "woke" so that we can go on living however we want just because we are the dominant race, gender, sexuality, etc., etc., etc. And then you arrive at your MLK, Jr. moment, your "I have been to the mountaintop & I have seen the promised land" words of hope, & the exhausted & despairing find strength & encouragement once more to stay the course. Thank you, Judey, from one who has grown exhausted & discouraged. Thank you.

That was really good. I am such an amateur when it comes to poetry of any sort. But every so often I read one that i understand and enjoy. This was one of those.
