One of many thousands
A story told throughout time
Scallop shells strewn across
A storm soaked shore
Flowers in vases, on the table
Trinkets and kisses lost to time
Polaroids fading, sandcastles collapsing
🐚
Scouring the horizon for a purpose
(Coming up empty handed)
A leaf, cascading down a river
A star falling, unseen
From the freckled night sky
🐚
Do not cry for this
This story - one of many thousands
We had bruises and could not
See the blemished skin
The prettiest view, though
We never reached high enough
To gaze upon it
We had love and could not feel it
Flowers wilting, vases shattering
🐚
Everything gone too soon
Wanting does not give you the right to have it.

Author's Note: Jazzy had the awesome idea of collaborating on a poem together and it was heaps of fun to create it. I definitely recommend doing this with some of your favourite Vocal Creators and I highly suggest listening to Jazzy's podcast 'The Shrug'. Thanks heaps Jazzy!
