She hums and smiles as she preps

A full weekend spent

Gardening

Double cleaning

Fragrant baths

For self and for pets

Because he’s coming

He’s coming

A Monday date

After a week away

And so

With ground plants planted

Café table cleaned

And a potted mum hanging in the corner

With boxed flowers on the patio

Potted flowers on the steps

Colors everywhere

Her home is ready

After the dinner

After the love

That might lead to marriage

If the hook has been set

In the bait so sweet

After it all

The sun rises

On smiling lovers

And a turd on the sidewalk

From source unknown.
