trophetic

golden without a shine

"[losing or saving?] the inner child" jason alan 10x8" acrylics on canvas 2026

through my teeth

i say i am fine

i tell myself it is not a lie

not if i really want it to be true

not if i need to believe it

mixing koolaid and hype

it is the dream life

and it is killing my inner child

but i wipe my face dry

and i wonder which inch i gave

that left my back against a wall

and miles ahead is where i started

i look down and my heart is missing

with blood dripping from my teeth

and i am still hungry for more

i am still hungry for it breaded and fried

i am still hungry since i met him

since i have been on a diet

trophetic, limerent, and denied

golden without a shine

through my teeth

i say i am fine.
