To Serenity and Beyond

January 21st, 2014

Pure and simple,

Taken without a thought,

Yet given too much

The beauty in the world

Gone by each day

Will never be the same

That’s the point however,

And that’s the reason why,

I take notice

Each on its own

Yet together in a singular

Pattern of life

The snow that lands

The wind that blows

The sky that clears and clouds

The ground that warms and cools

The hills that rise

The valleys that fall

Control is not ours

Power is not ours

Time and space,

Not earned, nor wasted, nor spent

Energy,

Neither created or destroyed

Life and death,

Are not finite

A bird that chirps

A bug that squirms

A whale that swims

A grazing antelope

A feeding lion

A birthing cow

Serenity in ourselves

Beyond all imagination
