To Date a Sailor

Crystal blue eyes peer out from the corner of the room.

Uniform pressed and sharp,

patches in alignment, edges tucked.

He holds the door open and slides his cover on.

Crystal blue eyes look her up and down,

lingering on her ruby red lips for just a moment longer-

He flashes her a smile.

Crystal blue eyes stare at her from across the table,

dancing with his words,

glimmering with excitement.

He walks her to her car with promises to call her;

promises of more time to look into the depths of his crystal blue eyes.

Crystal blue eyes gets into his car, starts the engine, adjusts the mirrors-

Crystal blue eyes reaches into his pocket,

and slides on his wedding ring.
