Timeless Gift

Poetry

I see you in the way god intended you to be seen

I sit idly by waiting to hear heavens music that you call your voice

The sparkle in your smile when you discover something new

When you defy the a god’s thunder just with your laugh

The compassion you hold for an entire galaxy that doesn’t ever deserve you

I wish you held that compassion for yourself

Time slows down enough that our age gap becomes meaningless

To a woman who thought you were just a dream

You whisper magic over my wounds and close the ones I thought I healed

I could soak in your essence the way the world was meant to bathe in you

It is only you that captures my breath between every heartbeat

Your very existence boldens me to challenge the gods to dare to compare

To what I’ve found & given by them themselves

As a timeless gift, as the sun to my moon

I find myself staring at your existence

Knowing my life’s work has been spent looking for you

There are no others

There are no dreams

There is only the thought of you and me
