Time for Goodbyes

Remember when we first met?

Your kindness led me to you.

There was no need for a bet

For there was nothing I would not do

I did not want to cause pain,

Yet I am to blame.

There is nothing to gain

And our hearts are in the flame.

I would do anything for you

But it’s clear we gave it our all.

This is long overdue.

Over time we drifted apart

Now we have a broken heart.

I enjoyed our time together

And had hoped it was going to last forever.

I don’t want to do this.

Not sure how much I would miss.

Can’t keep living these lies,

So it’s time for goodbyes.
