Such bittersweet memories,
Filled with both grief and joy,
Oh, what wonderful beauties.
My heart has been enveloped,
By a fondness I have developed,
For things of a past age;
While then I was a fool,
Those encounters made me sage.
Such is the way of Time,
In present it seems no reason or rhyme,
But in passing,
The saddest of memories
Can be the cause of joyful laughing.
And so it goes,
As we float,
Going wherever Life's river flows,
A destination which no one knows.
Yet,
On this stream so gentle,
There can be calamity so mental,
Leaving such destruction in it's wake,
It causes the mind to snap awake,
To a harsh reality,
That nothing lasts,
In a world of such fragility.
So my soul looks at the sky,
And like so many others,
Lets out a mighty cry,
"I WANT TO LIVE,
TAKE EVERYTHING I HAVE TO GIVE!"
Ah, such sweet relief,
As I finally let go of the belief,
That for me,
Time would stop.
Breathing in, reaching out,
I can not help but laugh about,
Everything in life,
All the things I thought were mine,
Were nothing but a way to pass the time;
And I smile,
Knowing that all the while,
I created memories that made all this time,
Worth every minute and mile.
So, before you go,
Into this World so wild,
Think on these things and rest,
Good night, my Child.
