Those Were The Days
When Babies Were Booming
Remember when answering the door
Meant inviting somebody inside
Remember when nobody panicked
No one whispered, “Be quiet and hide”
Remember when buying a burger
It resembled the one being shown
Remember when phone calls were risky
Cos the name didn’t show on the phone
Remember when men put their family
Ahead of a budding career
Remember when we’d be embarrassed
If our pants didn’t cover our rear
Remember when dancing was sexy
And sometimes could even be flirty
Remember when “busting a move”
Wasn’t twerking or anything dirty
Remember when we didn’t agree
But we still called each other a friend
Remember when being a Christian
Wasn’t something you had to defend
Remember when “reality” was real
Now on TV it's totally faked
Remember when a weed was for pulling
But now it’s for getting you “baked”
Remember when wanting the truth
We would simply just turn on the news
Remember when what they reported
It never reflected their views
Remember when shows were all censored
Like “Lucy” and “Leave It to Beaver”
Remember when our parents were cool
Yeah, I don’t remember that either
