Those Eyes

Why I keep coming back

Those Eyes
Photo by Colin Lloyd on Unsplash

It is the eyes that draw me in

The luminescent specs of green

I get lost in the shades of brown colonies

Taking residence in both irises

*

Then the smile keeps there

And those tantalizing lips

I always get distracted

By their pink and plump presence

*

Then there’s the softness of the skin

The way I imagine fluffy clouds would feel

A smooth layer that is comforting

A place to rest and let my mind roam free

*

Yet...

*

Every time I try to break away

I find myself back again

Staring into the world behind those eyes

That forever keep me hypnotized
