A morning walk through the trees
Beneath a canopy of colored leaves
The yellows, the browns and all shades of green
Becoming a treasured part of my routine

To close my eyes and feel the breeze
While taking a break under a shaded tree
To feel the textures engrained in the wood
To allow the environment to elevate my mood

To stand in the path of the sun’s golden rays
Allowing it to hit my skin, to leave it shimmering for days
To bathe myself in all of its glorious hue
Allowing the light and warmth to penetrate through
*
To watch as the sunrays become nature’s easel
Adding color to the plain, making them all regal
It sheds light on every surface that is unseen
Leaving a brilliant mosaic of living art as the scene
*
In nature there is always an exchange
A place to house your soul and speak your own language
With a brown skinned arm and a green hand extended
Nature will always welcome you in, its true beauty reflected.

A Digital Pandemic.
After a long day in the department, Emily dropped her worn and tired dark leather bag on the counter before navigating through the small and disordered kitchen to grab a cold beer from a contrarily empty fridge. She hadn't had a chance to unpack since moving from Newcastle to Glasgow, let alone shop for sustenance, except for cold brews naturally.
