how thankful i am for living on this land alone

untouched by the pain that circulates on its own

my own little world, where nothing goes unheard

thank god I stayed running from the herd

away from the norm that was set for me

far from what they’d call destiny

i’ve been protected, sheltered, saved from their pain

i’ve grown to know better, learned from their mistakes

i’ve been given the space to dream

i’ve been given the space to breathe

a pack of wolves around a sheep

here, i’ve escaped their bloody teeth

i’ve learned to fear and flee

learned to live and lead

on this land alone, i see

the moments fold in front of me
