Thinking Out Loud
A poem for no one
I am sure, that I am unsure of who this poem is for.
A lone man, shrouded in doubt, on the verge of being exposed,
considers, revealing his weakness, a miracle act of throwing himself a rope.
From his vantage point, he can see a case
where if backed in a corner and stranded,
it might very well provide an advantage,
to those who lacked support to choose to disclose their own woes
before the demands of foes in an attempt to throw out of sort,
concerning an adversary’s shortcomings
which might appear in an enemy's reports.
So, if this subject appears in chapter I of Laying Plans
or in chapter VII of Engaging Force,
I take no credit, nor claim myself a scholar in the Art of War.
Once again, I am not sure who this poem is for.
