There Will Be Wind

Long after you have ceased to be,

Your landmark rocks will be reduced and broken,

Till all the remains is the sea

And memories of your life have faded,

Still there will be wind.

We may do great things,

Find ourselves ‘immortalised’ in art,

But even that one day will be lost

And others will replace us

And still there will be wind.

There will always be wind,

It will carry your ashes

And cool the burning tears on cheeks left behind.

Everything fades,

No matter who you are;

But there will always be wind.

About the Creator

Clara Elizabeth Hamilton Orr Burns

"I was always an unusual girl

My mother told me that I had a chameleon soul

No moral compass pointing due north

No fixed personality...

...With a fire for every experience and an obsession for freedom"
