There are hundreds and hundreds of dragons flitting in the world.

Dragons of stiff steel wings, of flatulent fumes and chemical mist.

There are dragons with no wings, stuck to the ground, but hundreds of iron feet.

There are dragons that screech and roar among iron tracks. That pull and lug their long bodies across the country.

There are dragons that burble and float in cool water. Dragons that hiss and speed, leaving white mist in their wake.

The are little dragons the chuff and sputter on tar and asphalt rivers, honking like geese, or yelling like birds.

There are even littler dragons inside the dragons, strumming fleshy, dull claws to a whisper inside their flat, little heads.

There are bones of dragons that lie deceased and abandoned by the rivers and paths. Bones of dragons recycled to becoming new bones for baby dragons.

There are carcasses of dragons that now house little creatures, sheltering under their ribcages.

There are massive dragons that bellow and roar for war. That march and stomp to take over the beaten lands.

There are tiny dragons that entertain the fleshy one’s young. Tiny dragons that show pictures of joy, or fun.

There are dragons that ferry fleshy livestock, dragons that turn fleshy livestock to dragon food.

There are dragons that nurture gardens. Dragons who trim wheat, who turn soil for seedlings.

There are dragons whose jobs are to preen to females.

There are dragons that shine with glossy scales like mirrors.

There are dragons who sing like crystals. Dragons who sing like low drums.

There are thousands of dragons in the pockets of the fleshy ones. Little dragons to carry in a purse.

There are dragons that relay messages,

Dragons that capture images.

Dragons that play music on tinny drums. There are dragons that have long, thin bodies to give songs, dragons with short, fat bodies to guard treasure.

And there are even dragons inside of the fleshy ones.

Tiny dragons that keep four chambered hearts beating,

Tiny dragons that measure sugar,

Tiny dragon bones to shape and heal weak bones.

Dragon scales that fix eyes, that repair noses.

There are dragons that decorate, too.

Tiny, silver dragons that hand from fleshy earlobes.

Tiny banded dragons that circle a claw.

Dragon whiskers that imprint ink into skin.

The tiniest of claws that pierce noses, lips, ears and brows.

There are dragons everywhere.

If only you know where to look.

Tiny dragons sound cute, but I have to say that's some remarkable AI image!
