The World Outside

What does the fish think of

Oblivious of the world outside, a bit curious too,

the fish wondered what lies on the other side,

the other side, layered on the center by this bubbling segment,

of river water, constantly flowing into the ocean,

making this rustling sound, as the fish eyes kept looking on and on.

Perhaps different plants, like here, down below,

perhaps a mix of population, large-sized and small,

beings, similar to fishes and other organisms,

swimming or floating in an atmosphere, similar,

who knows.

If only he could breathe up above,

he would love to see and feel what lies there,

If he would crack a hole in the surface,

he would love to see what lies there,

not via those nets that catch hold of so many of them,

to be used for purposes, unknown.

As the golden sun rays penetrated through the mirrored waters,

a sudden splash, and down came a net

on the fish, lost in thoughts, catching him off-guard,

many seconds of struggling,

managing to escape somehow,

escape from the net,

or escape to the world outside?
