So, I decided to write about Wordle.
Wordle, for those who don’t know,
Is a daily, word game
That has achieved quite popular fame.
You have five blank spaces for faces.
Each face is filled with a letter
To make a word that is your choice for the day.
But the trick is…you must match
The NYTimes chosen word…that’s the catch!
You have six chances to claim victory!
Or end up without the solution, for misery!
There is no greater joy
Then to make your word choice
And rejoice!
As you watch the tiles flip to green
Or accept defeat, and not make a scene.

You’ll give it one more minute, and then you’re headed back inside. It’s pretty chilly out, after all. Not that that’s a real issue - you’ve stood out here for longer, and in colder weather. The snow is nearly gone already; tiny, dirt-stained islands of the stuff form a shrinking archipelago dotting the sea of green that is your backyard. Striations of sunlight dance through the trees at the edge of the woods and paint the scene in a camouflage of brown, green, and gold.

The Golden Valley
The difference between light and dark could be as quick and simple as a flip of a switch, the drawing of a curtain, the opening of one’s eyes. It could be more gradual like the slow adjustment of the diaphragm on a microscope, the turn of a planet on its axis, the growing light as you approach the end of a tunnel. A flicker in the dark, a steady glow in the distance, a flash in the night sky.
