The Weight of Sorrow
A Poem of Loss, Pain, and Hope
The weight of sorrow hangs heavy and low
A cloud that follows wherever I go
With each step I take, I feel its pull
A constant presence, a relentless lull
Memories of joy now distant and blurred
Replaced by pain, by hurt that's incurred
Each thought a reminder of what was lost
A feeling that sears, a line that's crossed
The tears fall freely, a never-ending stream
A river that flows, a broken dream
And in the darkness of the night
The pain intensifies, a crushing fright
Yet even in the midst of this despair
A glimmer of hope, a fleeting flare
A reminder that even in the darkest hour
There is a chance for a new flower
For from the ashes of pain and strife
A phoenix rises, renewed with life
And though the weight of sorrow may remain
The promise of a brighter tomorrow keeps us sane.
