The watch strapped to my wrist,
doesn’t just tell the time,
it tracks every ghost of the nights I’ve spent chasing it.
You say, “Think bigger.”
I ask, “How much bigger?”
Will this glittering dust finally bring me peace,
or just another label to carry?
Wrapped in this expensive skin,
I am searching for the pieces of who I used to be.
Don’t mark me with the tag of ‘success.’
Just give me that one moment,
where I can stand before the mirror,
and look myself in the eye without flinching.
Tonight, I am not being for anyone else.
I am simply, finally, here for myself.
