Those who hate nihilism probably don’t know the truth

That nihilism is a beast with not one but two heads

Each as sinister as the other when they are let loose

Those who hate it create it and should share its fateful noose.

One head has forsaken order. Why exert effort for naught?

It disdains the successful for being such lucky snots

It goes out with a bang which leaves an ugly, defiant mark

An act of revenge for denying it that which it sought.

The other loves order, of course. Without it, why bother?

It disdains the untethered for being fearless of change

It crumbles to dust despite all the heroes it fathered

The well of meaning runs dry when the cosmos are collared.

These nihilistic minds are far from the blessed center

Two extremes which co-exist in response to the other

Between the two lay the precious meaning we all search for

Balance unknown to those who don't attend to their brother.
