The Tree

Ancestral knowledge awaits

By Jarreck Published 3 years ago 1 min read

I enjoy a good long walk, at any time of the day, and there are few weather fronts that will deter me.

Sometimes I walk with earphones in, listening to music or an audio book. I just simply enjoy being outside away from my cramped desk and restricted view of my daily grind. Music or books taking me away. Some days I just wander out to simply listen to the music of nature.

As I wander around the parkland and fields my camera captures things that capture my attention, things that inspire me to stop and look or think; maybe turn off my earphones and just be for a few moments alone with whatever has captured my eye.

Then there are those times when the world around me comes alive; I hear the history around me, I feel it in my bones and through my feet emanating from the ground, reaching up to my ankles and beseeching me to look far beyond what my eyes can see today.

This is one of those moments, captured in a snapshot of words which arose in my head as I ambled along familiar ground; seemingly familiar in this time and another.
