I've got some words I'd never say, written down on a list

Opinions, hopes and dreams, safely secured in bitten lips

Is it fear or just experience that keeps me on lockdown?

Maybe I'm waiting for the right time that I can let it all out

Something about those baby blues and that smile on your face

Stirring up some lost emotions that my head can't erase

Once upon a time and someday, stuck on the tip of my tongue

But, I love you is a phrase I think has been overdone

But it's true, I think I do, I think this time, it's overdue

Still, I will hold it here inside, until I know that you feel it too

Sometimes I wish that things were different and it wasn't this way

Till then, I'll add it to the list of the things I can't say
