The thing about evil
is it's always hiding
because cruelty is cowardice
it has to be shrouded in darkness
to have time to take root
it's always pretending to be something else
promises convenience to make you complacent
keeps you exhausted so you won't dream of revolt
breaks your spirit
while asking you to be grateful for crumbs
we all give up on dreams
while they live in a dream land
they have to be separate from us
because if they don't feel superior
if they don't have power
they are nothing
sad and suffering
and afraid to change
their bleak hearts and shiny trinkets
are a poor excuse
for how afraid they are
to live like us
because evil exists to ensure someone is always worse off
