The Surface Of Things

Beneath the surface of things lies

A world of hidden truths and ties

That bind us to our hopes and fears

And shape our lives through countless years.

The things we see are but a mask

That hides the truths we dare not ask

And yet, if we are brave enough

To dive beneath the surface rough,

We'll find a world of wondrous things

Of beauty, joy, and soaring wings

Of love and hope and endless light

That make our hearts take flight.

So let us shed our shallow view

And seek the depths that lie anew

For there we'll find a richer life

Free from fear and endless strife.

The surface of things may deceive

But in the depths, we shall believe

That life is more than what we see

And holds a deeper mystery.
