The Snooze Button Waltz

A Playful Morning Dance of Love and Laughter

By Tale WeaverPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In the early light of dawn's embrace,

Our bed's a cozy, sacred place,

Yet every morning brings the test,

Of who can stay in slumber best.

- - -

The alarm clock rings its shrill decree,

A challenge to our sweet reverie,

You groan and hit the snooze once more,

As I curl up and softly snore.

- - -

It's like a dance, our morning game,

With sleepy steps that have no shame,

You pull the covers over tight,

While I pretend I won the fight.

- - -

The minutes pass in snooze-filled bliss,

Each time the clock's denied its kiss,

We trade off turns to silence time,

In this routine, absurdly prime.

- - -

Your tousled hair and sleepy eyes,

Are worth the struggle, no surprise,

For in these moments, half-awake,

Our love’s the sweetest give-and-take.

- - -

The sun peeks in, a golden hue,

As we both stretch and start anew,

With groggy smiles and morning cheer,

Our love grows stronger, year by year.

- - -

In this waltz of dawn's first light,

We find the joy in every fight,

A symphony of snooze and dreams,

Where love’s the thread in all our seams.

- - -

So let the world rush on outside,

In this cocoon, our hearts abide,

The Snooze Button Waltz, our morning bliss,

A dance of love in every kiss.
