The present

As I sit here pondering on things.

I listen to what the birds do sing.

I watch the ground by my feet below.

Sometimes I think the grass does grow.

As the tree leaves dance while the wind does blow.

I ponder the things from down below.

This sense of self it seems I own.

But am I....am I the things I've been told?

As the dog does bark and the cat goes meow.

I truly have noticed the power of now.

In this present moment I shall choose to stay.

For that my dear friend is the gift of today.
