They can reveal or conceal so much more
Words are the bridges that we use to connect
The hearts and minds of people far and near
They can express what we think and feel and expect
They can comfort us or fill us with fear
Words are the weapons that we use to fight
The battles that we face in life and death
They can defend us or harm us with their might
They can give us hope or take away our breath
Words are the gifts that we use to share
The beauty and the truth that we all bear
