The Pain I Wear
The ever-present feeling of depression

My lies protect me,
From the pain of my reality.
The wounds I bear echo around my heart.
I wear a shadow of myself.
Smothered in darkness,
My light stolen.
Laughter holds no pleasure but guilt in equal measure.
My footsteps vanish into cold memories.
My spirit is a ghost that walks behind me.
Pain is a thief of joy,
It steals from me daily.
