The moon tonight reminds me of you

In her splendour she glides,

Across the nightly dark skies

Her glory oozing all around her

This disc, in the heavens, is you

In its roundness, smoothness and flawlessness

It lights up the night sky,

It stands out amongst the bodies.

Though the stars abound and twinkle

Her glory supercedes theirs.

Just when the fiery ball has gone down

And it seems like darkness

The darkness will eat me up

You show up in full magnificence

Bringing with you the cool of the night

Causing me to forget the dictatory

And fierce eye of heaven over Makurdi

To come home, victorious, to you,

To your beautiful face

To enjoy the gift of the night

And to awaken recharged and ready

Ready to take on whatever comes with the dawn.

Regardless of your phase,

Even on days the clouds tend to deny my eyes of your beauty,
