The Moment Is Gone Too Soon

A Poem

The moment is gone too soon.

A step in the right direction, a lesson learned in the wrong.

A leap from the dark, slowly I claw myself back to where I belong.

A bittersweet message in a bottle, graces a desolate empty shore.

A momentary spark ignites the eternal, is the experience worth the fall.

A glimpse of a forgotten life...

Becomes yet, another fading memory to keep.

Dreams again a welcome comfort...

As I lay my weary head down to sleep.

I walk on this lonesome highway...

Carrying a closet for my skeleton.

Thinking if I keep it hid away...

If it’s never revealed then she won't run.

There is a side to the sun, that is in the shade.

There is a place in hopelessness where belief is made.

As the shadows try hard to eclipse the moon...

The truth lies bare in the spotlight, the moment is gone too soon.

Is a white lie as bad as avoiding the truth ?

Is secrecy a treachery? are we the broken hearted the proof?

As the wind howls against the frail window frame...

A double meaning is now found in the depth of the pain.

There is a side to the sun, that is in the shade.

There is a place in hopelessness where belief is made.

As the shadows try hard to eclipse the moon...

The truth lies bare in the spotlight, the moment is gone too soon.

The rain echoes in the puddles, as the thoughts within my head.

More deeper, more repetitive remembering all that she said.

There was something that was missing, within the mystery of the crime.

Sometimes blinded by beauty we don’t see...

We become but a hungry fish caught on the end of an another’s line.

There is a side to the sun, that is in the shade.

There is a place in hopelessness where belief is made.

As the shadows try hard to eclipse the moon...

The truth lies bare in the spotlight, the moment is gone too soon.
