The Majesty of a Desert Sunset

The sun sets low, in the western sky

A painted picture for you and I

The desert sands, a sea of gold

And mountains, rising tall and bold

The sky above, a canvas pure

A palette of colors, to be sure

The sun, a ball of fire bright

Dipping slowly, out of sight

The first hues, a blazing red

As if the sky is stained with blood

Then orange and yellow, take their place

And purple, deepens in the space

The colors shift, from shades of blue

To pinks and purples, soft and new

The sun now gone, a final blaze

The sky is set, in a stunning daze

As stars light up, the darkening sky

The colors fade, and we say goodbye

To a desert sunset, so majestic and grand
