The Magician

A Poem

By KA Stefana Published 4 months ago 1 min read

Hues of green, blue and orange

Tendrils flowed as he chanted

Weaving his magic deep into the forest

And beyond

His cloak flapped

Cracked as the wind carried it away

Dust swirled at his feet

His golden eyes transfixed

On the task before him

Underneath the moon & stars

The magic settled in

Exploded with a burst of thunder

Across the horizon

The unsuspecting inhabitants

Fell into a gentle sleep

The Princess was lifted

Out of her bed

Stolen through the portal

Memories disappeared

Of her lovely childhood

Her storyline rearranged

To begin again

As if he never existed

He disappeared into the netherworld

The world woke up

To the fading magic

A grief untold

Their Princess gone

Without a trace

Forevermore
