The Love-Laden DIY Debacle

How Home Renovation Hiccups Glued Our Bond

By Tale WeaverPublished 2 years ago • 1 min read

In a house of dreams where love’s the glue,

We embarked on a project, just us two.

With a hammer in hand and a hopeful heart,

We’d fix up the place, a work of art.

- - -

The plan seemed simple, the goal quite clear,

A little renovation to spread some cheer.

But fate had other ideas in store,

As chaos began to knock at our door.

- - -

We started with paint, a cheerful blue,

But soon the carpet was painted too.

I tripped on a ladder, you tried to catch me,

We landed in a heap, laughing hysterically.

- - -

Next, the shelves were to be our pride,

But the brackets were missing, no place to hide.

We improvised with books and some string,

Creating a wobbly, teetering thing.

- - -

You held the drill while I gave direction,

But we drilled through a pipe, what a connection!

Water sprayed out like a wild, rogue fountain,

Drenching us both from floor to mountain.

- - -

We tiled the bathroom, a masterpiece begun,

Until we realized the tiles weighed a ton.

One by one, they slid and crashed,

Our bathroom dream was thoroughly dashed.

- - -

Through all the mishaps and the comedic fray,

We found our love in a new, sweet way.

For in the mess and the DIY blunder,

We discovered joy and a bond like no other.

- - -

So here’s to the chaos, the laughter, the tears,

To tackling projects and facing our fears.

For in every mishap, every misaligned nail,

Our love grew stronger, it never did fail.

- - -

In the end, our house was quite the sight,

A testament to love, pure delight.

So let’s keep building, one nail at a time,

In our love-laden DIY debacle, so fine.
