the land was quiet once
the light of the stars were cold as iron
still life persisted
madmen start to believe in hope again
they claw desperately at dark earth
digging up seeds of chaos
while their bodies succumb to time
their souls do not stray from the path
they have found purpose
and refuse to yield their legacy
filling the world with beauty and uncertainty
time has begun
now we race it to the end
a life of curiosity and risk
always fleeing the freezing nights of before
the quiet is too cruel

A life of curiosity and risk. So much truth in that line. Loved your poem!
