The Lamp On The Path

A Poem To Light The Way

By Samuel FowlerPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

My dream is alive, like a printing of sky,

Never seperate from the clouds, that cover our eyes!

Peel away the paint and let it all bleed,

For the seeping of rain brings new found treats!

I am not alone, although it may feel,

Like never before my brothers and sister!

I feel them so close yet we’re scattered around,

Like chickens or fowls, trying to find our own food!

Can we not get along, like a big happy family?

Why must we all die, like the skies that turn grey!

For the brightness to return it depends upon the storm,

Let it hail and sleet for we need new crops!

As we return to the earth, as though we’ve never been here,

We must learn to accept the fate of us all!

So shine whilst we can, our True Nature so bright,

Like a rainbow awaiting the Gold to be found!

For the Gold is our Nature,

Not afar like we think!

Give up the chase and polish the mirror,

For your reflection is here, not out in the rain!

Sit and let be, the rainbow appears,

For those in good stead, with mind’s that aspire!

To benefit us all, to show us our colours,

We must journey our way through the sleet and the rain!

Yet the weather that comes is not coming from there,

Instead it comes from where we cannot!

Bare to look the last place we would think,

The depths of our mind’s, don’t move and you’ll shine!

You’ll light up yourself, so I can now see,

Your nature isn’t seperate from me!

The light we now foster to alight those ahead,

We must bring it to awaken those that lie asleep, up ahead!
