I’ve seen you before
Eyes narrowed down
As if the world had dismantled you from your body
Patient and easy
I approach you in awe as you bring fourth words of hesitation
Make way for whatever comes next
How can I make way for you
You cast yourself in isolation
Dreading the day you would be approached by such confidence
Such eagerness to get beside you
Only you
To fathom any piece that I could get
To replace my love with you and by this bind we could connect
The surgical cord for one’s intellect
You see, mine is not as great as one
But surely enough damage has already been done
The look on your face says it all
You get the same coffee, black, extra sugar, maybe tall
I’m no truth seeker, but the lips of an apple always seems to call
Like you did
Without speaking a word
