The Great Land

sad poetry

I can’t breathe

I can’t see

I can’t believe

What do we do?

When we cry out that we can’t breathe

And you keep walking by like you can’t hear the screaming.

What do we say?

To the friends and families of the humans, we’ve lost today.

What can we show?

Like a scene from the movie screens, what can we show that would make you believe?

How can we help?

When no matter what actions

Unjustifiable force is what is given.

How will it stop?

WHEN will it stop?

God, please make it stop.

Doesn’t it matter?

Don’t we matter?

Don’t they matter too?

You taught us to treat others the way we wanted to be treated and then you do those evil things you do.

You lied again, I shouldn’t be surprised. I guess I just expected better from you.

America the great,

America the brave.

America of hate

America of pain.

You scream to make America great again,

And I must ask you this,

When was it ever great?

We live on stolen land,

Stolen from peaceful people

who were killed, raped, and enslaved.

This country was built on fucking hate,

So don’t tell me it was ever great.
